NTMIS is a computerised manpower information system. It is an
on-going project sponsored by NHRD the Government of India with a view to
generating and maintaining an up-to-date data bank for providing
reliable information on engineering graduates and diploma holders
which is a pre-requisite to planning and administration of technical
education on proper lines. |

FUNCTIONS
OF NODAL CENTRES AT BOARDS OF APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING: |

Collection of data from the employing
establishments.

Checking, Verification, coding of data.

Entering data in the computer.

Processing of data and preparation of
establishment survey reports.
-
Sending the data to the respective Nodal
Centres and the Lead Centre.

To achieve the
above functions the nodal centre is headed by one Project
Officer assisted by one COCP, one R.A., one P.A. and four Ad-hoc
investigators.
Normally it takes
around one year to complete data collection and analysis of the
data. The establishments are advised to send the information in
the format prescribed by IAMR Load centre. (copy of NTMIS establishment
schedule and explanatory note enclosed).
After the first
letter, establishments are reminded periodically by sending
Reminder-I, Reminder-II, Reminder-III, A D.O. letter with the
signature of the Director, BOAT is also sent to few
establishments.
The list of
defaulting establishments is also collected by personal visit by
the Project Officer. Some local establishments are also visited
by Ad-hoc investigators.
Monthly progress report of this work is
sent to the lead centre at IAMR, Delhi every month.After receipt
of the information for a particular year the Establishment
Survey report is
prepared in the tables No. 1 to 85.
